- The study goal was to access the effect of Pearl Tomato for its in vitro melanin inhibitory properties against UV-induced melanin synthesis in a mouse melanoma cell line.
- Pearl Tomato exhibited 57.65% melanin inhibition at 500µg/mL concentration against UV‑induced melanin formation. The Pearl Tomato product has proved to neutralize reactive oxygen species and free radicals, thereby diminishing the polymerization of existing melanin or melanogenic precursors, ultimately reducing skin pigmentation.
- Pearl Tomato Inhibition of Forskolin-Induced Melanin Synthesis in Mouse Melanoma Skin Cells (cell culture)
- The study goal was to determine the Pearl Tomato percent inhibition of cAMP in test cells. Forskolin (positive control) induces pigmentation by increasing intracellular levels of cAMP.
